About the campaign

Across the country, CPAWS' chapters are working in their provinces and territories to protect Boreal Woodland caribou. Together, we're asking the federal government to meet its obligation to protect Woodland caribou habitat under the Species at Risk Act.

Our goal:

  • Fall 2011:  Following consultations, the government to release the Boreal woodland caribou recovery strategy to protect critical habitat in Canada's Boreal wilderness.

Meet Bou

Hi, I'm Bou, a Woodland Caribou living in Ottawa. I'm helping CPAWS spread the word about protecting caribou across Canada!

Check out my blog, follow my photos on flickr, and see what I'm up to at Facebook and Twitter.

Did you know?

Woodland caribou reproduce slowly. Females take longer than other types of deer to reach reproductive age and rarely have more than one calf.
