About Bou

I’m a woodland caribou from northern BC. One day while hanging out at home in the boreal forest, I noticed CPAWS was looking to hire a social media caribou. My first thought was “What? Humans want to work with a caribou – coool!” I did some research into CPAWS and its CaribouAndYou.ca project and discovered that my species is at risk! I knew I was losing contact with some of my family and friends, but I didn’t know it was this dire.

So after some serious discussions with my beautiful, understanding, and very supportive cow Mou, we decided that I had to apply for the job to become more productive rather than sit around and risk becoming extinct. I applied for the job…..and I got it -YAY!

Now I am in Ottawa to help save my family and friends. Unfortunately, Mou had to stay behind in BC. I will miss her greatly and I think this will be the hardest part of this new job. But we both agreed to make this sacrifice for the betterment of Woodland Caribou and the ecosystem.

Thank you CPAWS for giving me the chance to save my family and friends and thank you Mou for all of your support.

P.S. Here is my video application for the CPAWS job. Yes, I wore A LOT of make up for this one.
